October 26-28, 2007 at Byrd's Adventure Center in Cass, AR.  Here's what's up with Rocktoberfest this year:


  • DO NOT SEND YOUR REGISTRATION IN!!! BRING IT W/ YOU TO THE GATE!!! Please do not show up at the gate and insist you sent it in and already paid. Any sent in will be sent back to you. Non-members of course can register at the gate.

  • The event runs October 26-28; feel free to show up and camp and play early if you like.

  • Competition is Friday and Saturday, same as always. Sunday is play day.

  • Price is $50 for members which gets a couple and two kids into the event w/ their rig; camping fees will be handled by Byrd's Adventure Center ($8 for hookup, $6 for primitive, call them for availability).  For non-members it is $75 for a couple, two kids and their rig, camping also separate.  Two raffle tickets are included. Spectator fee is handled by Byrd’s which we believe is $10 per day per person—please call Byrd’s to verify. This is a family-oriented event so if you have yourself and three buddies, you will pay for yourself and rig registration ($50 or $75); your three buddies will pay $10 ea. per day.

  • There will be no meal this year so we could cut back event fee.

  • Byrd’s will be running a concession stand in case you run low on camp food.

  • There will be a huge raffle w/ lots of prizes.

  • Tube Chassis/Buggy to go on separate raffle: $10 per buggy ticket. Buy as many as you want!

  • Bentonville Fire Department is helping out Ronald McDonald house w/ can tabs; a sandwich bag full of soda/beer can tabs will get you 1 raffle ticket, maximum 2 bags per person.

  • Fireworks are planned for Friday night.

  • Kid’s Scavenger Hunt planned on Saturday.

  • Kid’s ghost stories planned Friday night, possibly Saturday night as well.

  • We plan to have a bulletin board of event schedule in front of the stage to help cut down on confusion, sorry about previous years’ confusion!

  • Fire extinguishers will be mandatory at Rocktoberfest this year for trail runs and competition!! Must be properly mounted (no duct tape or rolling around on the floor) and w/in easy reach of the driver. A limited supply may be available for sale at cost at the gate; they will be good refillable ones, not the disposable cheapies if we can get them – FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE.

  • Shirts this year will be hoodies and tees w/ current club logo, no staff shirts (staff will wear a vest and be expected to work). Not sure of price info yet, bring some cash w/ you to the event. Generally tend to be around $10-$12 or so depending on size, bigger shirts tend to go for more. No new koozies for Rocktoberfest but there
    will be some for sale left over from this years treasure hunt.  Probably a $1 or $2.

  • We prob will have some misc hats and club stickers for sale as well.

  • We need trail leaders/tail gunners!! Contact info is always at the end of the newsletter.

  • Trail runs at Rocktoberfest this year will be same as usual, make sure your vehicle is tagged and insured!!! USFS can and may very well ticket you if you’re on forestry roads w/o tags, insurance, registration. If they’re going to be out, Rocktoberfest would be the time for them to be out ticketing people!! First groups are expected to leave approx. 9:30am on Saturday, we’ll try to have a trail leader or two hang back for late risers. Friday and Sunday may have occasional runs as well as people gather up.

  • ATVs are being allowed inside Rocktoberfest this year for transportation only. They will not be allowed on OHV trail runs/site seeing tours or in competition. Price to bring an ATV is $25 if you’re bringing a wheeling rig; ATV only price is $50. Be on your best behavior please, acting up on your ATV will get you kicked out. Your registration is your warning—that you’ve registered and brought an ATV in means you understand you will behave. Ride responsibly and follow camp speed limit of 5 mph (in any vehicle)!!

Port-a-potties will be on site at competition locations.



Small Tires – 35 & down
Big Tires – 35 & up

If you have 35’s you may choose the class that you run in – but if you choose small tire you must compete in only small tire events. You can’t change back & forward between small tire & big tire events.

10:30 am to 1:00 pm Hill Climb
Big Tires will do the Middle hill
Small Tires will do the waterfall
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Lunch
2:00 pm to ? Woods course

9:00 am to 11:00 am Drag Races
10:30 am to 1:00 pm Trenches
1:00 pm to 2:00 pm Lunch
2:00 pm to ?? Rock Garden

There will an overall prize winner each day for each class each day that will win $100 cash. For 1st, 2nd & 3rd place prizes for each division for both days will be: 1st place – 100 raffle tickets
2nd place – 75 raffle tickets
3rd place – 50 raffle tickets


Rocktoberfest is a family oriented event with trail rides, Friday/Saturday competition, a raffle, and venders set up on site. Last year approximately 225 4x4 vehicles participated in the event with over 1,000 people in attendance. The hill climbs and obstacle course have been featured on the Travel Channel as well as several magazines. This year the club has voted to donate a portion of the proceeds from Rocktoberfest 2007 to assist in helping keep Public lands open for multiuse purposes.
